The skull ghoul was inspired by the term bottled up. Design wise the aesthetic came from the 18th century Skull and bone pirate era aka do not touch poison. There can be times where your spirits and emotions can feel lost and trapped or just engulfed in fear to the point it feels bottled up. Another word for bottled alcohol is spirits and a ghoul is a trapped spirit. For this I digitally sculpted the concept. I then 3D printed the mold, sanded it and hand painted it to completion.
